About Us
The Central PA Heroes Coalition is a group of friends and family who decided to take their cosplay and costuming skills to the next level: The level of greatness, of the greater good. We provide children and families with superheroes, princesses and more! Our characters spring spirit back into childrens' lives and give them the strength and encouragement they need in trying times. Our mission statement, “We came, we made friends, we made smiles,” is just a small testament to the power of charity-driven cosplay.
The Central PA Heroes Coalitions is proud to announce it is now officially a public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Contributions donated to the Central PA Heroes Coalition are fully tax-deductible retroactive to the original filing date of March 20, 2016.
How It All Began
It’s a simple answer, it all really started with a little boy named Gavin, who was in second grade with my son Gavyn. Gavin had leukemia and was undergoing treatments. My wife learned what was going on during Back to School Night. I reached out to his mother and first we put together a card shower for Gavin. Some friends and I had done a Kids Walk for Kids event together. So, I reached out to Sharon, Kayley, Mike, Jonathan and Chaz and we began to plan an Avengers-style visit for Gavin. Before we knew, it our events picked up and it just took off from there. Within our first year we did 19 events!
